- Open the SkyTRX program
- Go to the menu bar and select
Setup
- Now select the option Setup
SkyTRX Track Recording Unit
- Once your in the setup
window, go to the left side and three different options are listed to
choose from. SkyTRX Key (Mini Tracker), SkyTRX USB (3100 USB), and SkyTRX
Serial (3100 Serial). Select the unit that you have
- Plug your unit in to the
computer if it isn't already, now select AutoFind.
- This should find your unit
and bring up a message saying "Device Found!" ***If this doesn't work
please follow the instructions listed with asterisks***
- Once the Device is found,
close the small setup window, and go the green icon in the upper left
corner.
- Select download and you are
ready to save and view your information.
***Troubleshooting: ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU ARE PLUGGING IN TO THE SAME PORT
YOU INSTALLED UNDER!
SkyTRX Mini Tracker: If the Mini Tracker MT4100 does not find, make sure
that the unit has not fallen asleep. To make sure of this, take the unit out of
the port, shake it once, and place it back in. Hit Auto Find again
3100 USB: If the device does not find, please follow these steps as closely
as possible.
- Close the Setup window, turn
off the unit, and unplug the USB cable from the device.
- Turn the unit back on, open
the Setup SkyTRX Track Recording Unit window.
- **VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THIS
CORRECTLY** Now all within about 2 seconds of each other, select Auto
Find, and plug the USB cable back into the unit in that order, and make
sure the USB is secure.
- If the unit continues to not
find, try installing on another drive, or call tech support if all
troubleshooting options don't work
3100 Serial: If the device does not find, make sure your connections are
secure on both ends of the serial data cord. If it continues to not find, pull
the male end that plugs into the unit and pull it out 1/5 of an inch. If this
doesn't work, loosen the data cords connection to the back of the computer by
about the same amount by loosening the screws by a half turn each.
If all else fails, contact tech support.
